AI Review & Insights
BETA FEATURE!
Please be aware that this feature is in beta. While the feature is ready to use, we are still smoothing out any remaining rough edges and making it simpler to use based on your feedback.
INCLUDED IN
This feature is included in our Enterprise plan while it is in Beta.
AI Review & Insights is a powerful feature designed to help you proactively monitor, review, and manage risks in your documents directly within your workspace! Together, they provide both document-level guidance and workspace-wide visibility into potential risks and areas for improvement.
Meanwhile, all documents in an enabled workspace are continuously monitored for issues and risks from the moment they are sent. The results are presented in interactive graphs under the AI Insights tab, offering a clear, actionable view of your document portfolio’s risks to help you identify potential issues and patterns across your contracts.

Set up AI Review playbook for your workspace
The Playbook makes it easy to create a review process that fits your workflows and priorities. You decide which key clauses the AI should focus on, what counts as a risk or an issue, and even which clauses to exclude entirely—all with just a few clicks.
At the top, you’ll see a summary of all the clauses currently included in your playbook. If there’s something you don’t need, you can simply close it with the "x" next to the clause.
If you remove a clause, you can easily find it again by clicking into the field to view all removed clauses, or use the search to quickly locate a specific one.
All clauses reflected in the summary at the top are listed below and can be fully customized—adjust the feedback, example text, and define whether it should be flagged as a risk or issue. Tailor it exactly to your needs!
Configure Workspace Role Permissions
To access AI Review & Insights, users need the correct permissions enabled in their workspace role.
The following permissions must be activated:
- Access AI Insights dashboard.
- Access AI Review for individual documents.
Even if AI Insights is not enabled in the workspace, users will still see the AI Insights tab. However, no information will be visible unless the feature is first enabled in both the Marketplace and the workspace, and the user has the correct permissions to access it.

How to Use AI Review on your Documents
You can access the AI Review feature at any point during your document’s lifecycle to get automated insights and recommendations.
Documents with the status Draft are not automatically reviewed by AI. However, you can still review with AI by accessing AI Review manually.
You can manually access AI Review in two ways:
From the Document archive
- Go to Documents.
- Click on the action menu to the right of the document.
- Select AI Review from the action menu.
From inside the open document
- Open your document.
- Click on the action menu in the top-right corner.
- Select AI Review from the action menu.
For documents that have already been sent and have entered the Pending state and onward, any issues or risks automatically identified by AI Review can be easily viewed in the document archive.
- Go to Documents.
- Click on the red label displayed underneath the document title. Red labels indicate issues and/or risks that may require immediate attention.
This will open a detailed view showing the identified findings, allowing you to review and take action if needed.
Inside AI Review
When you open AI Review, you land on the View Document tab—an overview of potential issues and risks (in red) and general info (in blue). Use the Next and Previous buttons to move through highlights.
Each highlight has an info box on the left showing which playbook concept it relates to, with two tabs:
- What to do – explains the issue or risk and provides guidance based on the feedback text configured in your playbook.
- Example clause – provides a reference clause aligned with your playbook concept, making it easier to rewrite or adjust the section.
The Missing concepts tab shows concepts defined in your playbook but not found in the document—helping you spot what’s missing.
AI Insights
AI Insights monitors and reviews all documents in your enabled workspace from the moment they have been sent. It visualizes the analysis in interactive graphs, giving you a detailed overview of risks of your document portfolio. One graph will be generated per concept defined in the selected playbook.
Access AI Insights
- Go to Documents > click on AI Insights.
AI Insights overview
In AI Insights, you’ll first see a general chart showing Total issues and Total without issues. This gives you a quick overview of all documents—highlighting how many contain issues and how many do not.
For quick access, you can click Show documents under Total issues section to open a list of relevant documents directly.
Below the main summary, you’ll find interactive charts for each concept defined in your Playbook. Click anywhere on a row or chart to open a filtered document list related to that.
For the Governing Law concept, you can also use the Show documents with issue option below the country chart to quickly find documents where the concept is missing or unclear.
To the top right of each concept, you’ll see Guidelines—a quick way to access the criteria set in the Playbook that AI Insights uses to analyze and flag potential issues.
Additional Notes
- AI Review can analyze documents of any kind, including PDFs and even attached PDF-files.
- You can also filter the AI Insights view using the filters and folders on the left. This allows you to tailor the overview based on document status, lifecycle stage, or other criteria relevant to your review.
